- Face Masks Required on West of Hudson Trains While Traveling in New Jersey
Starting Sunday April 12 customers are required to use face masks or face coverings while traveling on New Jersey Transit trains in NJ. This includes Metro-North customers on the Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines traveling into New Jersey.
The requirement is by order of NJ Governor Murphy that all riders are required to wear a face covering when traveling either on NJ Transit or with a private carrier, unless they cannot for medical reasons.
According to Gov. Murphy, a face covering does not mean a medical-grade mask. There are any number of ways you can cover your mouth and nose with a bandana or a homemade fabric covering.
