LIRR Concourse Project - February 2021 Update

Temporary Retail Closures; Concessions and LIRR Track Information Available Upstairs on Amtrak Level;
Coming Soon: Hudson News Pop-ups

MTA is continuing to improve and transform Penn Station. To facilitate the LIRR Concourse Project, all existing retail in the LIRR Concourse will close temporarily. To protect the public during construction, wood decking is being installed overhead along the 33rd Street Corridor.

Customers can access concessions and amenities upstairs in the Amtrak Concourse. LIRR track and service information is available on the Amtrak level on new LIRR track information screens. Customers can also consult the free LIRR TrainTime App for train and track information.

In the coming weeks, Hudson News pop-ups will be located in the LIRR Concourse where customers can purchase coffee, newspapers, and other concessions. See the map below to learn more.

The LIRR Concourse Project will include higher ceilings, wider corridors, improved lighting and air flow, accessibility enhancements, new retail options, and more – for a better Penn Station experience.
