November 9: Penn Station Temporary Partial Concourse Closure

33rd Street LIRR Connecting Concourse to Partially Close

As work continues for the East End Gateway and LIRR Concourse projects at Penn Station, a section of the 33rd Street LIRR Connecting Concourse between the Central Corridor and Main Gate Area will temporarily close during the overnight hours, from 10 PM to 5 AM.

This work will not affect access to platforms or tracks; however, customers using the Connecting Concourse between 7th and 8th Avenues will need to detour through the Hilton Passageway as shown in the map below.

We expect this work to be completed by mid-December 2020. Please plan ahead and allow additional time to transfer through the station while these changes are in effect.

The East End Gateway and Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) Concourse project will include higher ceilings, new wayfinding signage, and improved access and circulation for the hundreds of thousands of passengers who traverse the corridors of Penn Station each day. Thank you for your patience while work is underway.

For More Information: Contact the LIRR’s Customer Service Center by calling 511 or 718-217-LIRR (718-217-5477). Automated schedule information is available 24/7. Agents are available to assist customers daily from 6 AM until 10 PM. To speak with an LIRR employee, say the word “Representative” when the prompts begin.
