Monday, July 23:  Weekday Service Changes Begin As New Summer Timetable Takes Effect

Saturday,July 21 marks a pause forAmtrak’s ongoing state-of-good-repair work in Penn Station that commenced in January, and the beginning of a critical phase of the East Side Access (ESA) project. For a six-week period, ESA work in the Northeast Quadrant of Harold Interlocking, the busiest passenger interlocking in North America, will restrict the routing of trains into and out of PennStation.This work willreplace dated infrastructure to improve reliability and expand the capacity of the interlocking. As a result, some train service will be restored to prior patterns,while other changes will remain in effect and some new service adjustments will be introduced. Branch-by-branch rush-hour impacts in effect starting Monday, July 23 include:
