October 12: Merillon Avenue Partial Platform Closure

Western End of Westbound and Eastbound Platforms to Close

As the reconstruction of Merillon Avenue Station continues to advance, the western portion of both the westbound and eastbound platforms will close effective Monday, October 12.

All customers will continue to enter/exit the train from the first six cars; however, platform access points will change as detailed below and in the accompanying map:

Westbound:
The platform can be reached via three access points: a temporary walkway extending from Atlantic Avenue to the station; an access point just east of the Ticket Machines; and an access point just west of Nassau Boulevard on the north side of the station.

Eastbound:
The platform can be reached via two access points: an access point just north of where Wellington Road meets Main Avenue, and an access point just west of Nassau Boulevard on the south side of the station.

Please plan ahead and allow additional time to reach the station platform while these changes are in effect.

The LIRR Expansion Project will add a third track along nearly 10 miles of right-of-way between Floral Park and Hicksville, increasing capacity, improving reliability and creating new service opportunities. Thank you for your patience while work is underway.

For More Information: Contact the LIRR’s Customer Service Center by calling 511 or 718-217-LIRR (718-217-5477). Automated schedule information is available 24/7. Agents are available to assist customers daily from 6 AM until 10 PM. To speak with an LIRR employee, say the word “Representative” when the prompts begin.
