LIRR to Cross-Honor MetroCards for Customers Affected by Overnight Subway System Closure

Beginning on Wednesday, May 6, and continuing until further notice, NYC Transit subway service will be suspended from 1 AM – 5 AM, daily, to allow for increased cleaning and disinfecting of subway cars and stations.

During this time, the LIRR will accommodate MetroCard holders by providing free train service for travel to/from the following stations:




Customers are advised to check the LIRR’s online schedules before traveling as overnight LIRR train service is less frequent than subway service.

Brooklyn customers: under the Essential Service Plan, the last westbound train from Jamaica departs at 1:19 AM, weekdays, and 1:22 AM, weekends, and the last eastbound train from Atlantic Terminal departs at 1:49 AM., weekdays and weekends.
