March 10: Penn Station Nighttime Construction Extends Protective Shield Above 33rd Street Corridor

MTA is continuing to improve and transform Penn Station. Starting on Wednesday, March 10, work zones will be established in the 33rd Street Corridor near the Exit Concourse during the overnight period. These work zones will allow for the extension of the overhead protective shield as part of the LIRR Concourse Project. The Corridor will remain open, and workers will be onsite to safely direct customers around the work zones. We expect this work to conclude by the end of March.

The map below shows the location of where work will occur:

The LIRR Concourse Project will include higher ceilings, wider corridors, improved lighting and air flow, accessibility enhancements, new retail options, and more -- for a better Penn Station experience.
