LIRR Operates 38 Extra Trains for St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Manhattan, March 17

Alcohol Banned on Trains, Platforms and at Stations

The Long Island Rail Road will provide 38 extra trains – 20 westbound and 18 eastbound – for those traveling to and from the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Manhattan on Saturday, March 17.

In the interest of safety, alcoholic beverages will not be permitted on trains, platforms or at stations from 12:01 AM, Saturday, March 17 through 5:00 AM, Sunday, March 18. Any alcoholic beverages observed or found will be confiscated by MTA Police.

The additional trains for St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, are:

Port Jefferson Branch (from Port Jefferson and Huntington)
