"Living the Dream: Celebrating History"

July 28 to August 24, 2013

Harlem observes the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation with special tributes to this momentous event; and celebrates the dream of freedom which gave rise to the vital, vibrant and creative society we have today. The dynamism and versatility of Harlem are expressed in a month-long celebration featuring free concerts, street fairs, sports events, movies, health seminars and cultural activities.
