What we accomplished
January 2 - 5
|Installed 60 bracket supports for power cables|
|Removed 120 feet of old power cable, third rail connections, and track switch components|
|Changed location of eight existing power cable connections|
|Adjusted connections of 10 power cables between the third rail and track switches|
|Removed 400 feet of old power cables, cleats, and ceiling brackets|
|Completed work items for new Circuit Breaker House, included tagging of wiring and components, improving safety features, and installing a new lighting fixture|
|Installed three new door locks at several locations|
|Performed circuit breaker repair|
|Installed new Wayside Radio Unit antennas|
|Completed site surveys|

2015 Line Weekend Work
In 2015, significant weekend work on three capital improvement projects on the Line in Queens continues: installation of a new Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) signal system; elevated track replacement and infrastructure work; and the reconstruction and fortification of the Steinway Tubes.
The majority of this work is scheduled over weekends when ridership is lower and gives our workers continuous, train-free access to the Line. We are aware of the inconvenience these and other disruptions cause, and we appreciate your patience.
