2014 7 line icon Line Weekend Work

In 2014, MTA New York City Transit is moving forward with three major capital improvement projects on the 7 line iconLine in Queens: installing a new Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) signal system; track replacement and infrastructure work; and Sandy Recovery & Resiliency work reconstructing, replacing, and rehabilitating components inside the Steinway Tubes.
When these projects are completed, customers will benefit from improved service reliability, safety, and more dependable subway service along the 9.4-mile, 21-station line connecting Downtown Flushing, Queens, with Midtown Manhattan.
