Fees, Reproduction & Usage
The Transit Museum charges fees for the use of items from its historical collections. These fees defray the costs of preserving and cataloging our materials and help to expand research access to this vast collection
The Transit Museum does not lend original materials for reproduction purposes. Commercial users and other researchers must use the Archives photo duplication vendor and pay current costs for reproduction and enlargement.
Users of materials from the New York Transit Museum Archives will be responsible for locating and identifying underlying rights for publication.
Conditions for Use
Reproductions of all images must be captioned to indicated the correct title of each image and the following language Courtesy of New York Transit Museum Archives.
All fees are payable in advance. Permission for use is contingent upon payment of publication fees in advance of the publication date.
Use of images will not be reproduced for anything other than the use approved. Permission for use is contingent upon signature and receipt of the usage contract before the release date of the publication.
Material may not be cropped, retouched, colored, manipulated, used as part of a collage or otherwise altered without the explicit permission of the New York Transit Museum.
Two copies of the publication must be provided to the New York Transit Museum Archives.
