IMPROV EVERYWHERE

Grand Central Terminal,
West Windows
February 1, 2013

Happy 100th Birthday, Grand Central! To celebrate this auspicious anniversary, Arts for Transit invited Improv Everywhere and a group of 135 performers to illuminate the grand windows on the West side of the historic landmark. Equipped with a variety of LED lights, the group charmed passersby on the Main Concourse, with their sudden appearance along three floors of windows, creating a luminous shower of light, and bringing a carnival-like atmosphere to the city's historic indoor town square.

Improv Everywhere is a New York City-based collective that causes scenes of absurdity and joy in public places. Created in August of 2001 by Charlie Todd, Improv Everywhere has executed over 100 missions involving tens of thousands of undercover agents.
