The experience

Named "2017 Best Museum" by Hudson Valley Magazine, the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum is the ideal destination for families with young children. With exhibits that focus on literacy, art, science, and the local community, the museum provides an educationally rich environment through which children have the opportunity to explore, develop important skills, and make interpersonal connections.
Five exhibit galleries and an outdoor children's garden help families connect in meaningful ways through purposeful hands-on play

The Museum also features many special events, drop-in programs, family workshops and presentations, and hosts a seasonal farmers market on Monday afternoons from June through Labor Day.

The Museum is located in the heart of the historic waterfront in Poughkeepsie, just steps away from the Poughkeepsie Train Station, the Walkway Over the Hudson’s Elevator, fabulous restaurants, and two waterfront parks.
