Hudson Valley, CT & Beyond Getaways
Self-Guided Dutchess Agritourism AdventureYear-Round
Discover local farms, food and craft beverages on your own time with your own wheels! Stock up on ingredients at the Beacon Farmers Market, open on Sundays, then visit 2 Way Brewing Co., a micro craft brewery, using Hudson Valley grown ingredients. After you explore Beacon's bustling downtown scene, head out to the countryside and pick apples at Meadowbrook Farm or shop the farm store at Obercreek Farm (you can also find Obercreek in GrowNYC's Greenmarket). Stay overnight at the chic Roundhouse in downtown and enjoy farm-to-table fare at its restaurant.
Purchase regular rail tickets at any Metro-North Railroad ticket offices, ticket vending machines, or on the mobile app, MTA e-tix.
Take the Hudson Line to Beacon Station. Hail a cab or before your trip, visit Zipcar here to reserve a car (Zipcar located at station). Alternatively, explore on your own bike (allowed on board off-peak trains) or rent for $30/day from People's Bicycle in Beacon. Ride along scenic roads and explore or drive to Meadowbrook Farm or Obercreek. Visit Dutchess Tourism here for more lodging info and sample driving tours!
