Metro-North’s East of Hudson Thanksgiving Schedule,
(November 25 - 29, 2020)

Turkey

For this year's Thanksgiving Holiday, Metro-North will be there for you, from Wednesday, November 25, through Sunday, November 29, transporting you safely, reliably, and affordably to your destination.

We would like to remind all our customers to please wear a face mask on all trains, in stations and on platforms at all times, regardless of social distancing.

If you do not have a face covering, you can obtain one from the conductor on your train.

This year, on Wednesday, November 25, Metro-North will be offering regular weekday service on its Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Lines. There will be no early getaway trains this year. Off-peak fares are in effect all day.

From Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, through Sunday, November 29, we will operate a weekend schedule. There will be no Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year due to the pandemic. Off-peak fares are in effect all day, each day.

  • In addition, there will be no service between Southeast and Wassaic from Thursday, Nov. 26 through Sunday, Nov. 29. No substitute bus service will be provided. The Southeast station has ample parking and is conveniently located off of Exit 65 on I‑84, the interchange with NY Route 312. Service between Southeast and Wassaic will resume on Monday, November 30, 2020.

  • The North End of Grand Central Terminal will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 25, but will be closed from Nov. 26 through Nov. 27.

All train times for this schedule can be found on our schedules page or on our TrainTime App, and on the New.MTA.info app and website.

Here's our recipe for happy Thanksgiving travel: Buy your tickets in advance (like your turkey-or for the vegans among us, your plant-based meat substitutes). Thanksgiving is traditionally one of the busiest travel days of the year, and if you're leaving New York you must have your ticket before boarding your train at Grand Central or Harlem-125th Street Station.

If you are traveling on the Hudson Line, please see the holiday schedules for Riverdale and Spuyten Duyvil Hudson Rail Link service.

For your convenience during the holiday and at all times, we suggest you use MTA eTtix® on your iPhone or Android (you'll be 'thankful' you did!)

You can take advantage of free parking at many of our stations from Thursday through Sunday. (Check for signs at stations or call 511 for details. Outside of New York, call 877-690-5114.)

For the full weekend service, please visit us at mta.info/mnr, or download Metro-North's Train Time® App for iPhone or Android.

All of us at Metro-North wish you and your family a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday!
