Main Stairway to 4, 5, 6, 7, & Shuttle Entrance @105 E. 42, Closed For NYCT Staircase Improvements thru June 30, 2019
Effective May 1, 2019, the main stairway from Grand Central Terminal to the 4, 5, 6 , 7 and Shuttle subway entrance, located at the 105 East 42nd Street entrance, will be closed.
Improvements are being made to the stairway by NYC Transit, with anticipated completion of construction by the end of June 2019.
In the interim, customers should use the staircase located on the west side of the hallway to access the 4, 5, 6 , 7 and Shuttle trains. There is also an ADA accessible elevator available for customer use at the entrance, with access to the subway mezzanine.
Alternatively, customers can use the staircase located at the Hyatt/Shuttle passage.
Customers can continue to access the terminal up from the subway mezzanine via the east side escalators.
We apologize for any inconvenience as NYC Transit implements these improvements.
