Cashless Tolling is Coming, Get Your E-ZPass® Today Graphic Banner

How E-ZPass Works

  1. Order your E-ZPass
  2. Install your E-ZPass
    1. Be sure the windshield is clean on the inside near the rearview mirror
    2. Without removing the mounting strips from the tag, remove the tape backing
    3. Turn the tag label right side up facing you (so the arrows on the front of the tag are facing up), then adhere the tag inside your vehicle to the upper center portion of your windshield, behind the rearview mirror at least one inch to the right of the center support of the mirror and at least one inch below the edge of the windshield (or below the tinted section of glass)
  3. Use your E-ZPass
    1. At facilities with toll plazas:
      1. Look for the purple and white E-ZPass lanes as you approach a toll facility – these are the ONLY lanes where your E-ZPass is accepted
      2. As your vehicle enters the toll lane, a radio transmitter inside your E-ZPass will communicate with sensors in your lane, allowing the appropriate discounted toll to be automatically deducted from your account
      3. As soon as you see the green light, you’ll know your toll has been paid, and you are free to go!
    2. At cashless tolling facilities:
      1. Drive through in any lane at normal speed – there’s no slowing or stopping required
      2. As your vehicle passes under the gantry, a radio transmitter inside your E-ZPass will communicate with sensors overhead, allowing the appropriate discounted toll to be automatically deducted from your account
